I am an Express entry applicant and I have already received ITA. I am working in Saudi Arabia and my family is residing in India. As I am about to receive the biometric request and may receive passport submission later date, I would like to know the following to understand the process.

1) Is it possible to give my biometric at Riyadh VAC and my family biometrics at Indian office?
2) Is it possible to submit my passport at Riyadh VAC and my family passport at Indian office?

Thanks in advance.

Hi guys,

I'm having difficulty entering my Canadian work experience in my Express Entry profile. Really appreciate if you can help me out :)

1) When I was student in Canada, I worked full time as a Research Assistant from Jan 2014-Feb 2014.

Based on this link(https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/eligibility/canadian-experience-class.html), this work experience is not acceptable for Canadian Work Experience Class, correct?

Does that mean I should not mention it when I'm putting in my info? Or in the last question, when it asks if I was studying full time during this job, I say YES to this question and the system won't take this work experience into account?

2) During my education, I worked as a Fundraiser from the end of Oct 2014 to the beginning of Nov 2014 (3 days only!). As we only put the month and the year, would the system consider this work experience as a month of work? Or I should not put it in cause it was only for 3 days?

3) The next one was after my graduation. I worked from Aug 2015 to May 2016 as a Fundraiser. But it wasn't full time, neither part time. It was on shift basis. Total hours for each month is as follow;

Aug 2015 for 11 hours/ Sept for 8.5 hours/ Nov for 45.5 hours/ May 2016 for 8.5 hours

How should I put this info in? I have a huge confusion here!

4) I started my last job on June 26th 2017. Should I pick June as the starting date or July?

My Post Graduate Work Permit expired on July 2nd 2018 but before expiration date, my employer applied for LMIA for me and with the LMIA file #, I applied for Work Permit Extension. In fact, I was in Implied Status from July 2nd 2018 until Oct 30th 2018 (when I got the rejection letter as the LMIA wasn't issued) and I stopped working since then.

So when would be the end date for this job? July 2nd or Oct 30th? Also, which date should be mentioned in the Employment Verification Letter as the end date?

Thanks for all your help in advance :)
Any thoughts on this? I really appreciate if you help me.

If at the time of your application you mentioned that you're applying from country other than your country of origin and made similar intimations about your family members' geographical placements, I guess you should be able to apply for yourself at Saudi VAC and your family at your home town's VAC. :)

Well, doing Masters in Canada is going to be very expensive for foreign students (multiple times higher than the price you'd pay if you were a PR).

Having said that, Masters in Canada does increase your prospects of landing a stellar job here .

If you can afford it, then by all means go for it . I assume you already have a CLB-9 in IELTS; if not, then getting a CLB-9 would be a priority IMO.
Already at CLB 9(SW) CLB 10(RL)! What if I apply as spouse not accompanying? It will increase 9 points from 434 and it would reach 443! Is that a good idea?

Yeah to could do that but you would have to sponsor your spouse once you land in Canada as a PR. While the generally announced processing time for spousal visa applications is 12 months, people usually get it is 7-9 months.

443 is not a bad score and you might be able to get an ITA soon. Good luck.

Hi there ,

Please respond to my query.

I had done training for 8 months 27 days under same noc from june 2014 to april 2015 which was contractual and then I appeared for my promotion exam and had been unemployed from may 2015 to march 2016.
After this ,I got promoted and worked as a permanent employee for 2.9 yrs and left the company.

The letter I had recieved from my company mentioned the first tenure as contractual and the last one 2.9 yrs bas permanent ..all the details are in the same letter.

So,Can I include this period of contractual job and show experience more than 3 years though there is a gap of almost one year because it is mandatory to appear for examination ?

Presently ,I am at 440 score but if I can include this 8 months work ex.,My crs score will be 465.

Please help.
You can include contractual period as well.
When you submit, you can provide an explanation for your unemployment.

Thanks for sharing this. I was also searching for the same
It's all on the CIC site: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp

But...

(Please note that this info does not apply to the Federal Skilled Trades Program)

1) Determine your eligibility by doing this CIC quiz http://www.cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/ee-start.asp

2) Get your language test(s) done. You must get at least CLB 7 in each of the four sections for the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) or Canadian Experience Class (CEC) streams. But getting CLB 10 gives you maximum points for language.

How does CLB match back to the language tests? That info is here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/language/charts.asp

3) Get your qualifications assessed by doing an Education Credential Assessment. Details here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/assessment.asp

4) Determine the code that best applies to you on the National Occupation Classification (NOC) list http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/noc.asp

The occupation must be NOC 0, A, or B for FSW or CEC.

5) When you have those in hand you create your express entry profile. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/profile.asp and register for the Job Bank http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/home-eng.do?lang=eng

You'll be given points based on your age, education, number of years work experience, and language skills. The points system is detailed here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp

You'll be in a pool with thousands of other applicants http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/pool.asp

Of course, the more points you have the better. The max is 1200, with 600 of those points coming from your ability to snag a PNP or a job offer with a very hard to get Labour Market Impact Assessment http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/employers/lmo-basics.asp

For CEC applicants, the max is 600 but someone who has no work experience in Canada who is only eligible for FSW can only get up to 520 points.

6) Finally, wait for your invitation to apply (ITA). But in the interim you will need to do the following:

a) Have your application fee (C$550 each for principal applicant and spouse) and right of permanent resident fee (C$490 each for principal applicant and spouse) ready
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp

b) Identify how you will provide proof of funds http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

c) check out what is required for the police certificates http://www.cic.gc.ca/English/information/security/police-cert/index.asp

d) find out how long it takes to get a date for the medical exam. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-perm.asp

e) contact previous and current employers about them providing job letters. You must have at least 12 months of full-time, or an equal amount in part-time, skilled work experience. Full-time work means at least 30 hours of paid work per week. Work experience while you were a full-time student does not count.

f) research cities in the province(s) where you want to live.

Hello.

I have a dilemma regarding my work experience. I started working (part time) as a high-school teacher during my Master's study. I read that I could include foreign work experience during full time study, but this is regulated profession. I got licence to teach only after Master's.

Should I count that experience, or ask HR at my school to just ignore that period and provide me a letter of experience after I graduate MS? On some topics related to different professions I have read that it would be counted as long as I have at least one degree (Bachelor's) but I still haven't found anything related to Education.

In addition, my Bachelor's is in Education, i got title "Graduated professor of mathematics".

Do you have any suggestions?

Kind regards :)

Hi everyone,

My cousin and her husband are applying to immigrate to Canada via Express Entry system. They have been denied due to missing one piece of information in their application (license history). This requirement seems to be specific to resident of Victoria.

They are looking for an immigration consultant or lawyer this time to ensure no error occurs again. Do you know anyone who has experience with Australian applications for PR? Your suggestion is much appreciated!
