The last time I applied for Canadian visa was in 2017, which eventually was rejected based on baseless reasons, despite of having extensive travel history of visiting USA, UK, Schengen, Japan, Middleeast, enough travel funds, job and enrollment at post graduate school, family.
Anyways, I was going through Canadian TRV recently and noticed some changes. The first one is as follows
- Proof of funds
CAN+ If you have travelled to Canada in the last ten (10) years or currently hold a valid United States nonimmigrant visa and can provide proof (entry stamps in passport, proof of the valid visa), no proof of financial support is needed.
Can anyone elaborate more on this new policy of Canadian visa. Does it also adds to more chances of getting Canadian visa if you have a valid USA Visa.
Also in this case despite of no financial support proof requirement, can one attach financial support document as an additional document?
Another thing I noticed is as follows
- Will I need to go in person to give my fingerprints and photograph each time I apply?
If you are submitting an application for a temporary resident visa, study and/or work permit, and you are biometrics required, you only need to give biometrics once every 10 years.
If you are submitting a permanent residence application, and you are biometrics required, you will need to give biometrics each time you apply.
- Once I enrol biometrics, how long will be fingerprints be stored in the database?
As of July 31, 2018, biometrics are valid for ten years. If the applicant enrolled their biometrics in the past, they are valid for ten years from the time of enrolment. Validity of visa or permit cannot exceed the validity of biometrics. Permanent residence applicants will need to give biometrics with each application.
It means we do not need to give biometrics again and again that way we can save money.
Also all their forms and documents are updated in 2018
Any noticed anymore changes?
