Express Renewal of TRV

I am a student, studying in Canada.
My TRV expired December 31, 2018.
I succeeded in getting my study permit extended to July 2020.
Unfortunately I didn't know I was supposed to do the TRV renewal separately.

I assumed that like the study permit which is issued at point of entry,
that the first time I travel, my new TRV to match my study permit would be issued.

I travelled out of Canada last Saturday February 23rd for a research program and I'm now stuck in London.

What I need most now is if anyone knows how I can renew my TRV in London quickly.
I don't want to miss 6 weeks remaining of this term.

Please help.

Unfortunately there is no express process for obtaining a new TRV. You should submit the TRV application online as soon as possible and hope for fast processing. You can include a letter requesting fast processing so that you can return to your classes.

Meanwhile, is it true that I can get a visitor's visa same day to travel to Canada?

Hello,

I in the same situation as you. I currently hold a work permit and an expired TRV. I traveled to London and applied for a new TRV, via VFS application centre, on Wednesday July 24. Please advise how long it took for your application to be approved? Thanks
