Hi experts...
My aor is 5th oct.2018. Just talked to ircc. I was told my visa office is Ottawa. But eligibility, criminality and security haven't started yet. It's been more than 4 months and nothing has started yet. Is it normal ? Pls suggest!

CPC-Ottawa has slowed down now Sad!! They used to be pretty fast earlier.

According to recent trend, this seems to be normal. Did they tell you that your application is pushed to a later completion date?

When I called, I was told mine was pushed from may 2,2019 to June 11, 2019 and eligibility, criminality and security hasn't started either. My AOR is Nov 2. Yours is older than mine so I feel yours might be pushed too.

Hello All,

Can someone please help me with my query ?

I applied to online express entry from within canada, below are the messages and updates from my application

E-AOR-APR : 15 Nov
Medical Passed : 18 December
No biometric needed
Background verification still process, we will notify when the decision will be made


I have also inquired using the web form about my visa processing office and i received reply that it’s in Sydney, Nova Scotia CIO

It has been more than 3 months after. E-AOR-APR

How do I understand if it’s in background verification stage one or stage two?

There is also no message which indicates if criminal is passed it not or security is pending?

Can any one help me understand which stage of background verification my application is and how long it will take for me to revive PPR

My file is at Sydney Nova Scotia.
Criminality completed Security still pending.

The agent on the phone informed since it’s an online application it’s not necessary that it will go to the local visa office , your file can also be processed at Nova Scotia Office.

My next question to her was , when will the it reach Background verification stage two : Agent reply : there is no background verification stage two.

I am really confused by agent answers.

Can anyone help me, When should I apply for GMCS notes?
Does it really helps fastening the process?

The official timeline provided by CIC is 6 months. It has only been 3.5 months since your AOR, so, you still have plenty of time.
It's been over 7 months since my AOR and I still haven't received the PPR.
People applying online outside of Canada may have their file being processed at a Canadian visa office - mine's being processed at Ottawa while I live outside Canada
There is only one stage of background verification wherein eligibility, criminality and security screening is performed.
GCMS notes will not help quicken the process. They are just a set of documents that provide you with a comprehensive detail of your status.

I have a question.

My AOR is Apr 5, 2018 and my file is in CPC- Ottawa. I ordered GCMS notes and received the first copy in Oct 2018. It showed Eligibility: Recommend Pass. I received the second copy of my GCMS on Feb 26, 2019 and now it shows Eligibility: Review Required. I can also see S.15(1) s.16(1)c on the top of some pages in GCMS notes. When I spoke to IRCC call center agent, they told me my medical and security is passed, criminality not started, eligibility still reviewing. I read all the comments of Case Analyst from GCMS notes and none of them show any negative comments. All the comments are Met, recommend pass etc.

I am unable to understand whats wrong with my application. Could anyone please suggest, what I can do to find out why they changed my Eligibiltiy from recommend pass to Review required?

There's no way to predict the timeline. I hate to break it to you but looking at the current trend, CPC Ottawa is super slow. My AOR is on September 22nd. Stuck in the same stage as yours. Eligibility - Met, Criminality, and Security - Not Started yet. Hope they pick up speed. It is really painful to see everyone getting their PPRs and knowing that my file isn't even being worked on.
