Hi everyone.
I have few questions to ask. I applied for spousal sponsorship, my file was received by cic on July 18/2018. Medical request was in November and medical passed in begining of December.
25th of December 2018 my application was sent to london visa office, and on the website it stated started processing on January 9th 2019.
I haven't heard anything from them.
Online it shows in process and doing background checks. Does it really gonna take another 12month since LVO just started processing it eventhough my file was sent in July 2018?
Another question... If I got a new passport, do I need to inform cic about it?

Based on my experience.. London is the slowest office ! I’m May applicant and our file transferred to LVO early July and we have not heard anything yet ! So it it has been more than 7 months with no update .. I got worried and contacted them and received a responce stating that processing time is 12 months and I gotta wait

Yes, it really does!

I thought the 12 months start from the date CIC receive the application not from when the application get transferred to the visa office , no ?!

Yes, above you said you sent your file in July 2018, so expect July 2019. By the way, 12 months is not guaranteed, it is '80% processed in 12 months on average' - some are quicker, some slower.

Sure, as I said, some are quicker some are slower, but the AVERAGE is 12 months. If you look carefully, you will see the quickest is 47 days and the slowest is just under 3 years! The quicker ones tend to be from visa-exempt countries.

Relax, you are well within norms.

Another question... If I got a new passport do I have to update LVO about it? Can't find any details online.
I will be having 2 passports. Old and new one attached.

Yes. Tell them via a webform and probably best to attach a scan of the new passport bio page.
