My husband already got his tax refund. He's in Newfoundland. Is that all he can get? Can he get something from gst/hst? How?

Our daughter is still in the Philippines and my husband is just TFW. We can't file for child benefit yet, right?

Your child needs to be living in Canada to qualify for the child benefit. So you are correct - you don't qualify at this time.

The GST/HST credit is for those who have low income. Your husband will have to research the rules to determine if he qualifies: https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/child-family-benefits/goods-services-tax-harmonized-sales-tax-gst-hst-credit.html

IF he qualifies for the GST Benefit the Government should let him know. It’s income tested . If his income is too high, he won’t get it. If it’s below the income level he will . Theory is why should someone making a moderate income level get a rebate from the Government?
However I am confused by the "is that all he can get ?". He only "gets" what he is legally entitled to
