Dear members and guests,
I need your advice, about my situation, to be short my husband (he is outside of Canada, I'm here 2.5 years with PGWP now) got 8 refusals of a visitor visa and work permit. The reasons are very standard (family tie, current employment situation, no perspective for employment in Canada, his current position is Administrative Assistant). After the last refusal, I have to decide whether I will appeal and go to the court or not. My PR situation is far too long, I need a one year minimum to get it. I've thoroughly read this forum and also some legal cases, but still have a lot of doubts. Of course, my lawyer recommended to me to appeal, but no guarantee for a positive result even after court.
I hope you can advise me. Thank you for your time!!!

We see very few work permit and visitor visa appeals to the Federal Court here since they are expensive and generally have a low chance of succeeding. I guess it depends on whether you are willing to spend several thousand dollars and still end up with a refusal in the end. If you're willing to do that, then I suppose you have nothing to lose by trying.

Ok. Thank you very much. There is no hope ...

And they said the exact same reasons. I find that hard to believe, as notes usually go more in depth.
No, actually, their explanation was pretty much the same. (I did apply by myself couple of times and with consultant 3 times, same result)

Hmm ok. Well after 8 refusals, I'm sorry but I pretty much doubt he is going to be accepted. Mind you if nothing was done to try and rectify any of the refusal reasons (or if nothing could be done) he was going to get refused every single time.

You mean it is pointless to appeal?

As scylla said, the chances of the appeal working are low. It also depends the reasons why you are appealing in the first place. If you have money to burn and don't mind losing it, then you can try.

Watch out for consultants that say that. I'm not saying there wouldn't be a very small number that have been accepted, but a lot of consultants will promise anything for the money.
