Hi all,
Got my PPR this morning. I'm soo relieved the wait is finally over !! I am a British citizen, so I will just need an ETA to go to Canada.

The email says:

For citizens using MyCIC AND from a country that is exempt from obtaining a visa to Canada –
Please mail/courier only your photos (see ‘STEP 3: PREPARE YOUR DOCUMENTS’ above). All other information must be uploaded to your MyCIC account.

For citizens not using MyCIC and of a country that is exempt from obtaining a visa to Canada (as determined in STEP 2 of this letter) – Via courier or mail directly to the London office.

I got an email only (no letter in my CIC account). There are no placeholders for passport upload in my account. So I need to POST/COURIER passport copies along with photos. Is that correct?

We plan to move permanently next year. My understanding is that we need to soft-land before our medicals expire and apply for PR cards (to be delivered to a friend's Canada address). Is this correct ?

What information will I be asked to submit when I soft-land? List of things we intend to bring with us - this is one thing I read somewhere on the forum. Anything else?

Any pointers to relevant information or threads will be greatly appreciated!

Yes you need to courier your copy of passports and photos. You'll only need to get eTA to fly to Canada.
Yes you need to land (soft or hard) before the expiry of visa, expiry of medicals, expiry of passport, whichever comes first.
In addition to Goods to Follow list, bring proof of funds, photos, and the Confirmation of Permanent Resident (CoPR). You'll receive CoPR after you send in your passport copy and photos. That's your holy grail to enter Canada. Proof of Funds could mainly be cash or bank statements/letters.

Sorry, I'm not sure this is correct. The email is stating quite clearly that you don't need to courier your passport. You would have provided a digital copy when you created your application, and the UK is an exempt country so there shouldn't be any need to physically send your passport.

Yes indeed thank you for the correction.
@winterdiva Send just the photos. Sending a copy of passport was an old requirement.
