How strict the "last 3 year income" rule for parents sponsorship

Hi, I am just curious how strict the income rule is. In 2017 I was a student until Sep. so my income is about $4k below the the requirements. 2018 and 2019 my salary is way above the requirement (more than $30k above). Am I qualified for 2020 parents sponsorship program or I have to wait another year? Thanks.

Extremely strict. You either meet the requirement or you don't. You'll need to wait another year.

Thanks. I guess finding a gf with 10k income in 2016 will solve my problem.
