Alright. That is a relief. The reason. I am asking there two ways of sending it. One just as “Mail” the other one as “courier service” which they have completely different address. However, I myself would believe it should be fine.lets see. Yours is a week before me so you should be getting aor earlier than me.

Not from anyone that we know, a couple of the applicants from january 2nd havent even recieved AOR yet. from checking the forums for december it seems like late december applicants are starting to get AOR, so in next 2 weeks we might hopefully hear something.

Thanks alot. The last time I called last week, they were passed the middle of December.

Just a quick question, my husband sponsored me in January but we were living as common law at that time. We've been together for 7 years and lived here together for almost 3. We sent our application out, but i didn't have my police certificate of character from my country. Its the only thing missing from it. I did receive it 2 days after...do you guys think they'll send the app back?

I can relate ahaha, I want to get my CSQ application for Quebec going but I need the AOR and green light from CIC first
Yeah, our process from States to Canada is a lot easier because we can ahem....flagpole that work permit.... I was told as soon as i have AOR i can but not totally sure, figured the worst they can say is no lol. Do you know anything about that?

Not really, unfortunately :(. I didnt apply for my OWP but I didnt have to, I'm going to school here (im 21, so a pretty young applicant). I'm here under a student visa, which comes with me being able to work during studies. But yes being from US is beneficial, I'm sure immigration can help you with questions, even if every time you call the queue is 15-30 min

Hello!

From what I've seen researching other forums and such, I can give you advice from observations. As far being married now (I assume thats what you mean by being no longer common-law), it should do nothing but aid in your application, although I'm sure you'll have to let CIC know since that changed the situation a bit.

As for the police certificate, and missing docs in general, I've heard of some people missing parts of application and they get requests from CIC to send it in ASAP as soon as they notice it isnt there. I dont think its grounds for a flat out rejection, but calling them would be best.

To help you out more, I pseudo flagpoled my Student Visa. I went to Japan for 10 days and when I arrived back in Canada I was allowed to apply on the spot as a US citizen. The worse they can say is no, but if you try to renew it before its expired, and you have all the proper paperwork (application filled out, passport, etc) on hand when you flagpole, I dont see a single issue in that. Canada border patrol has always been very nice and accomodating, at least for me, compared to US border control lol.

Yeah don't get me started about US border patrol.... One bad experience was quite enough for me. I've already got my visitor record that's valid until December 31, 2019 but it's coming to the point that I really just, well.... I love my children but they are in school all day lol so I'm bored. I really want to go back to work even if it's just administration. I do have a few years of management and a background in medical assisting with a 2 year degree from the States but transferring that degree is near impossible because it's so different than any ones here. I didn't apply for my SOWP with my spousal PR so just really hoping that after i get that AOR I can just flagpole the OWP. Yes Canadian border is much much nicer and they have been great with guiding me through what all i should have for our application. (I'm a "frequent traveler" between here and Michigan lol so they are starting to pass me through pretty quick, they know I'll leave or renew before i have to)

Was yours a renewal or a totally new application? Mine would be the first work permit application.

It was a first time application. I just took all my filled out paperwork and other required documents with me to Japan, and when I landed I said I wanted to apply in person, and they directed me to the office where it was done in ~10min after paying the fee for the app. Saved so much time compared to 2 months of waiting.

I really think it shouldn't be an issue, and if the border patrol already knows you, even better. Just take the full app signed and everything and they should be able to process you.

Like you said, the worst thing they can say is no, but even then, i think them saying no is unlikely. Good luck!
