I am a citizen of Country A and a resident of Country B, and I plan to apply for a Temporary Resident Visa from Country A in March. As I am not a resident of Country A, I answered that I am not applying from my country of residence in Question 9. Then I indicated that I intend to apply from Country A and I am a citizen of Country A. I am a bit confused by the "to" and "from" dates, and I do not understand what I should write!

I tried putting the dates that I lived in Country A: my date of birth as the "from" date and the day I was granted residence in Country B as the "to" date, but the form said that the "to" date must be greater than today's date. Then I tried putting the dates of my planned trip to Country A in March, and it said that the "from" date must be less than or equal to today's date.

Could you please help me? Should I state that I am applying from the country of my residence even though I am a resident of Country B?

Quite confusing!!

Simple solution:
You must apply from the country where your current ties are the strongest.... not necessarily your country of nationality. That said, you must also prove your ties to both countries.

This also means you cannot enter dates in the future. The from date would be max. today.... not tomorrow or next week/March

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, there is no Canadian visa office in the country where I am a resident, so I have to go to my country of citizenship to apply. I still don't understand what date to put as my 'from date' - my date of birth, the date my passport was issued, the day I became a resident of Country B? I am so confused...

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, there is no Canadian visa office in the country where I am a resident, so I have to go to my country of citizenship to apply.

You don't need to return to your home country to apply. You can either apply online.... or you can apply to a VFS/VAC office that accepts paper applications for your visa office. Either way, you would need to give your biometrics at this VFS/VAC.

Resident of country B: From the date you received immigration status in that country to the date you're applying for your TRV

Again, the 'To' date cannot be a date in the future

But the form does not let me enter the 'To' date in the past, it allows me to enter only dates in the future.

I have a kinda similar problem. I am a citizen and resident of the country in which there is no VFS/VAC (country A), so I need to travel to another country to do my biometrics (country B). The problem is "From" doesn't accept a date in the future, even though I identify my status a visitor of country B. I am confused how to answer to this question.
