waiting time after passing medical exam

Dear all,
I received an ITA for my express entry profile in January 2018. By feb 27th, 2018, I cleared all my documents and submitted my Medical exam too.
Finally I paid the processing fee by March 7th, 2018.

Since August 2018, My profile shows that my application is taking longer than usual. All other steps have been cleared. Background check is going on and they are also reviewing my eligibility.

My medical is about to lapse in another 15 days now. I don't know where my file is stuck up.
Is anyone else also facing a similar issue?
What should I do now?

I more or less have the same issue as you.

ITA received: 07 Feb 2018
PR Application submitted: 03 May 2018 --> I submitted without the police report which they asked from USA because I stayed there longer than 6 months. I submitted my application with a "time extension request" letter.

I was able to fully complete my documents by 03 July 2018 together with the police certificates (unfortunately I have criminal history in USA). From July 18 to December 18, it was complete silence. In December 2018, I was asked to complete Schedule A- "background declaration form" and in January 2019 I was asked to submit more information about my mandatory military service in Turkey.

Similar to you, I also have "Your application is taking us longer than usual to process." written on the status. During this whole time, the status of background check was something like".... we will inform you when the background check starts". Today, I noticed that the background status has changed to "we are processing your background check and will send you a message if we need more information".

It is nice to see this update, be patient, I am sure they will get back to you shortly.

Thanks for the reply Mert,
my profile keeps saying “we are reviewing your application” and background check is in progress for last 8 months... so yea I think, waiting is the only option here.
