Which colleges told you such a thing ?I enquired few colleges, they don't accept more than 5 years gap. Any help on this.
It's mentioned in George brown college website and admission office also highlightedYou were told by admissions office that you can't apply because you have 8 years gap iin studies? It's very hard to believe as there should not be any such rule. What course are you trying to apply for?
George brown don’t accept more than 5 years education gap to apply to our PG/Diploma programs. That is really interesting. Only for Post Graduate though. What programme are you trying to get in to?
I don't know where you are from but when I checked for Indian students, this study gap rules comes. They seem to have different rules for different countries. Not all colleges are like that, Humber college for example, at least for Indian students do not have such a rule, I have 4 years of "study gap" and I got admission. However for Humber college it is a bit too late for September 2019 as most of the popular programs are now full.George brown don’t accept more than 5 years education gap to apply to our PG/Diploma programs.
Please see note below:
NOTE: We do not accept study gaps of more than 5 years.

Yes, I am from India and thanks for your information. It will be good if you list few more colleges.I don't know where you are from but when I checked for Indian students, this study gap rules comes. Search individual colleges and see what their requirements are, and for the particular country that you are from. I do not endorse any particular college, but there are plenty of colleges to search from. There are some members here who have study gaps in the double digits, don't be disheartened.
Yeah, I did a detailed search afterwards, for example in Pakistan they accept only IELTS results and not TOFEL, why that is the case, god only knows. They seem to have very odd rules for each country but that's their wish.Looks like only applies for India, I looked up a few other countries in that list and didn't appear anywhere else. That really sucks.
I can tell from personal experience that Humber & Sheridan don't have such requirements. The member I talked about who had double digit study gap got into Durham College with a conditional admission to a University. Such rules of study gap not being accepted are rare, you can search on the admission requirements page of each college.Yes, I am from India and thanks for your information.
