Hello all! I'm a Canadian Citizen

I'm new to this forum and a bit nervous with this entire Visitor Visa Application. I have been with my wife for about 4 years now, she is from Colombia. We have a daughter together who is two years old and got married a year ago. I would like both of them to visit Canada. I provide everything for my wife and daughter. She has no official jobs (she does odd end makeup jobs or clothing) and she currently has 3 children with another father (ex) She was never married to him but is married to me. Those children would be staying with the father/grandparents while she is here in Canada. She intends on visiting with my daughter March 18th and returning June 18th for a total of 3 months.

I have started the application and have the forms filled out, photos, passports however I'm a bit concerned. I work a full time job and live with my parents currently, I don't pay any rent but I would be creating a letter of invitation for her stating that she would be in this same house with my parents having zero expenses since she would be coming with no income. This worries me. No where does it ask me for my passport or anything and I'm the one filling out all the paperwork online for her.

Proof of Financial Resource of Supporter (required) : This form would just be me showing proof that I have enough money to provide for her right? I have about $4000 saved up for them. What do I need to provide to make this concrete as possible? Is $4000 enough? Will they be looking at what I spend my money on with my bank statements?

Proof of Means of Financial Support (required) : This form is for her however she has no income or bank accounts that she can prove money. I send all my money to her with western union and I do have payment receipts with the Western Union app. I have been sending money since I met her. What exactly do I need to provide here? Another letter ? Because the form above asks for the same letter of someone providing financial means

Lastly, The one that worries me the most. Purpose of Travel - Other (required) : Do I have to buy a plane ticket even though I'm not sure she will be accepted? For those 3 months we don't really have any itinerary. She would be coming here to meet my family and for the baby to meet the family for the first time. I would take her to Niagara falls and eventful places that you normally would take someone from outside of Canada however this would be a weekend occurrence. Do I need to include day by day itinerary even though I'll be at work and she'll be at home with my parents? I really need a good explanation and perhaps a detailed example of what I should be submitting. Can I just write for example. March 18th - 21st . At home with my family, March 22 - Visit to Niagara Falls - March 23 - Visiting my sister . Basically what I'm asking is if I have to do every day or can I truncate the dates. We don't really know what we have planned 100%

Sorry for the long post but I would really appreciate if someone could reach out to me and guide me through all this, I don't want to make any mistakes. This is critical since Ive been visiting colombia well over 10 times now but I cant keep going because its affecting my job negatively. I'm in DIRE need to be with my family. Thanks!!!

1. As a visitor, she must prove she can afford the visit and/or she has strong ties to Colombia to return to. Unfortunately, with a Canadian spouse, the strong ties to the home country get overshadowed.

2. What is your immigration status in Canada?

I should have mentioned sorry! I am Canadian Citizen
IMO, you must start the spousal PR application instead of applying for a TRV. She would need to declare the other three children in the application, as non-accompanying family members (if that's the case).

My reasoning for this suggestion:
Your wife is unable to demonstrate any strong employment situation + no finances + no assets + no travel history + a visit of 3 months + most importantly, Canadian citizen spouse + Canadian daughter (I'm assuming this) = Potential overstayer

You don’t have to answer this at all if this intrudes into your personal life, but—any reason why you haven’t applied for spousal sponsorship for four years?

You can certainly try.

A few points that you might want to keep in mind for her TRV application:
1. Financial support of CAD 4,000 is on the extremely low side, especially as your wife does not have any finances of her own. You may want to save up some more before she applies.

2. How old are her other three children? Can she prove that they live with her + she is solely/largely responsible for raising them?

3. Does she have any compelling reasons to return to Colombia? For example, a wedding in the immediate family?

4. Do you have plans to visit Colombia after her Canada trip? Or maybe some other compelling reasons for you to travel abroad after her visit (your work or another holiday abroad, for example)?

5. Does your daughter have Canadian citizenship?

A side note:
As long as you are not on welfare, you can apply to sponsor your wife through the Family Class

Ive been married for one year. Ive gone so many times to Colombia I never have money saved up for fees. Lawyers want 3000+ . I get lost in the application alot with all its requirements.

I would really like my other questions answered so I can at least give it a shot? If declined ill go ahead and begin spousal sponsorship. But then id have to wait for canadian c

I agree that the chances of refusal are extremely high. If you are still going to apply, request a 2-3 week trip (not 3 months).

You don't need a lawyer to apply for PR. The vast majority of people here have done it themselves - it's a pretty straight-forward process.

You don’t need a lawyer to apply to sponsor her, although it will certainly take some time to do the research on your own—this forum is teeming with hundreds of cases and members who can guide you.

I daresay at least the spousal sponsorship application has more clear-cut requirements, compared to a TRV application which is arbitrary. There are more requirements, sure, but at least they tell you what to submit. As you can see, the TRV application is more of a guessing game.

Not sure what you were going to say by that last sentence—“id have to wait for canadian c” itzenship? We’re assuming you’re a citizen here as you stated.

Her other children 4, 9, 11 respectively.
What evidence can she include for this:
1. Do they live at the same address?

2. Are they attending school? If yes, can she prove she pays for their school tuition + other expenses (of course, those expenses are indirectly paid by you as you remit money to her)?

3. Does she have a custody document that gives her custody of the three children?

Her whole family and kids are there. She needs to return
Agreed. That said, she needs to back her reasons to return to Colombia with evidence.

I will return to colombia to baptize my daughter
IMO, she must apply for a TRV without her daughter. It's a tough situation for a young mom. However, from a visa perspective, your daughter will be a pretty strong/compelling reason for her to return to Colombia.

1. Have you made any bookings yet for the baptism?
2. Have you booked plane tickets (after her scheduled visit) to attend the baptism?

She doesnt have the certificate yet
Nonetheless, she will be considered as a Canadian. She will not be approved for a TRV even if she applies because she is a Canadian by descent
