additional verifications CIC required

Hello,

I have applied under Canadian Experience Class and my application is in progress for last 96 days. I received AOR on July 7, 2018. Medical status changed to pass on 12 July, since that time it shows "we are processing your background check".

I contacted to CIC-Ottawa and they sent me this message "Your file is currently under review and requires additional verifications. As a result, the assessment period will be outside of our posted processing times.
Unfortunately at this time we are not able to determine when your application will be finalized, but our office will contact you as soon as all verifications are completed, or if any additional information or documents are required.

I don't know what does it mean and what is going on in my file. I am extremely worried because my work permit is going to expire on Dec 31 2018.

It's only been 3 months!!!! Try to relax. In the meantime, learn about the Bridging Open Work Permit program.

Thanks for your reply. I am trying to be relax but some time the process creates so much panic. the word "additional verifications" made me worried, is it only happening with my application or it is a routine process.

Don't worry about it. It seems I got the exact same reply couple days ago.
You may send the application for BWOP for securing your status in Canada.
If the decision made before the approval of BWOP, you can simply withdraw the application and get the refund.

I've applied BWOP since the WP expired by the end of Aug. However, it's been withdrawn because I come back to home country to wait.

Anyway, just take it easy and send out the application of BWOP if you intend to stay in Canada for the result.

Thank you very much for your kind advice. I will just wait until 10th of Nov because the 4th month will complete by that time, one of my friend got PPR after 4 month. if it does not come.,.,.,then for sure I will apply for BWOP.

No Brother I am still waiting. it has been 4.5 month since I have applied. I called to cic and they told me that "Eligibility is recommended to pass", and they are "processing background check".

Same for me as well it has been 3.5 months . I got same reply "Your file is currently under review and requires additional verifications. As a result, the assessment period will be outside of our posted processing times".
Did you ask them what additional verification they are doing?

she had no idea about that,., but according to forum they will perform security, & screening which will be done by Border Security Agency, and the average time is around 7 month. for criminality I already provided the Police clearance certificate. I will call them again on Friday to ask about security and screening. I advise you to call them and ask about it and forget to share with me whatever the information they will give it to you.
