I got AOR1 yesterday for my wife (PA) and I.

Sent application: December 11, 2018
AOR1: February 6, 2019

Applied outland but wife basically stays here every day on her TRP and has a mailing address in the USA which we used on the application.

So, I received an application number and a UCI number but I still can't link the account online. I've tried combinations of family name and application number, family name and UCI number, application number and UCI. I also tried both place of birth and passport information. Nothing. I'm out of attempts for today (you get 5 attempts per 24hours) and I ran out of attempts yesterday too. I log in through a sign-in partner which is my BMO bank account. Am I doing something wrong?

Also, what's the next step after AOR1? Is it medical?

Wait for a few days (3-5) it apparantly takes time to reflect the account in the system. And yes medicals biometrics if applicable and Sponsor approval.

No biometrics needed since she is a US citizen so probably sponsor approval and then they will ask for her to get her medical done? I'll give it a few days before trying again. Thank you! :)

Did you create an account for your wife?

Hmm, not sure what you mean. There were two ways to log in. One was to create a GC Key and the other was a sign-in partner. I just clicked the sign in partner for BMO and it asked me to sign into my bank account. Then it brought me to my page where there was a link to link the paper application. Should I create a GC Key instead?

Yes try it with GCkey too. See if that works. And you can never be too sure of how these things progress. Some get it soon after AoR1 and some later.

Keep in mind the UCI on AOR1 is the sponsor's UCI not the applicant's UCI so it can't be used when linking on GCKey.

Hey Everyone
I've been trying for ages to link my application and I finally did it!!!!! THIS IS HOW

(1) Go to this below listed link
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/mycic.asp
(2) Click on continue to Gckey
(3) If You've already account created, login with your Username and Password otherwise Click on Sign up to go on next page and create your username, password and security questions.
(4) After creating my CIC account, click link application to this account.
(5) Then select category and subcategory that you applied for.
(6) Then select Application Number and Family name
(7) Fill your family name(surname), given name and date of birth as per Passport or Application form. PUT YOUR FAMILY NAME IS THIS FORMAT - Smith (ensuring the first letter is capitalized) THEN PUSH SPACE BAR ONCE. Then fill in Application number and AGAIN PUSH SPACE BAR ONCE.
(8.) Next in applicant personal info panel fill CITY AND COUNTRY OF BIRTH, DO NOT FILL IN ANY PASSPORT INFORMATION. AGAIN WRITE ON THE SAME FORMAT (CAPITALISED FIRST LETTER OF YOUR CITY) AND PUT A SPACE AFTERWARDS
(9) Select Province and town you intend to live in (as on your IMM0008) and select current marital Status.
(10) Finally select 2 as the number of family members AND AGAIN ADD A SPACE AT THE END.
(11) Once you fill all information, Click on Search for my application
(12) Your application will be found and can be linked.
(13) You can get real time updates on your paper application online.

GOOD LUCK LINKING

I'm in this process now (did medical mid December, approved mid January, now waiting for next request). To link your account you need to put "2" in the number of people on the application. This got me for the longest time but the sponsor and person coming are both considered to be on the application.

You can only link using your wife's account not yours. She is the pa.

Ok so I create a GCKey with my wife and still nothing. We tried inputting the application number and family name as stated above. For her area of birth, the city is Long Branch so we kept them separate just like that and then added a space after. :(

Did you try using passport info? I had tried several other ways and nothing worked until I input - application number, family name of PA, passport details instead of the birthplace.
