Dear all,

I have been trying to search the net for some answers but could not find something useful for me.
I am planning to do a 1 year certificate level course at a DLI. This particular course has also a 2 year diploma level. Now the things I would like to know are:
1) If I apply directly for a 2 year diploma, do I have to have all my tuition (2 years) paid in advance in order to receive the study permit. I understand that when applying for the study permit one will need to show that the tuition is paid.
2) If I apply only for the 1 year certificate and ( while me and my wife gather some more money) during this year of study I apply to change the study permit to another year (continuing the studies from certificate level to diploma, since the college said that I am able to do so), at the end of my 2 years, will I receive a 2 years or 3 years PGWP?

Looking forward to hearing your answers on this.

Best regards,
Nick

1. No. 1 semester is enough, but 2 semesters is highly recommended.
2. If your diploma says two year program, then you qualify for 3 years PGWP.
