Hi,

I have applied for 2018 parents/grandparents program. My dad is the primary applicant who currently resides in Bangladesh and my mom is the dependent who currently resides with me in Canada. They are currently waiting for the PPR. My question is can they send their passport in two different VISA office (my dad in VFS Bangladesh and my mom in Ottawa) as they resides in two different countries? I have seen this question was asked a few times in this forum, but no definitive answer was provided. People who originally asked the question didn't follow up to share what happened eventually. Any suggestion would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

Please check below threads might help you - Some people saying they change VO for dependent later

let your application go as is currently and once processed, request CIC to submit passport at Ottawa

Thanks much for your response. I went through these threads and some other threads; didn't find anything conclusive. The posters did contact CIC regarding the matter, but they didn't share the final outcomes. Thanks anyway for taking your time to help out, appreciated. Let see if I get any definitive answer from other members.

Your mother is only visiting you in Canada.
She has been with me for few months and has plan to stay here for next few months (my dad was with me between June and December last year). But I believe they would get PPR anytime now as everything has been completed and they received the Pre-Arrival Service Letter weeks ago.

You just have to be careful about your language. Your mother is currently visiting you in Canada. Yes you can try to arrange passport stamping for her in Canada.

Thanks for your response. I know I can try, I was just asking if anyone was successful trying this.

Regarding language, would it make any difference if I say 'my mom is staying with me' instead of 'my mom is visiting me in Canada'?. The CIC surely has the record of my mom's status in Canada. Would it make any difference in their decision, just curiosity. Thanks again!
