Hi all,
I along with my wife are permanent residents in Canada. We landed here last year in July (about 7 months ago). We both are employed here in Canada and earning around $4500 per month after taxes. I want to invite and sponsor my mother for a stay of about 5 months to celebrate mother's day, my birthday and my wife's birthday. She lives in India and receives monthly pension from the government. She has travelled to London, UK last year for 5.5 months and returned back to India within stipulated time. We have around $9500 in our accounts and my mother has $7000 in her account. She is living back home with my uncle (Chacha) 's family. The only thing I am worried about is we don't own any property in India. Neither she does. Can I show that she is living in a joint family in our ancestor's home and if so, what will be supporting documents required for the same?

Thanks in advance

5 months is a very long stay + wanting to celebrate birthdays is not a compelling reason to visit.

She lives in India and receives monthly pension from the government.
It would help to prove her finances.

She has travelled to London, UK last year for 5.5 months and returned back to India within stipulated time.
A 5.5 months' visit was a long-stay even though she was allowed to stay for 6 months max.

We have around $9500 in our accounts and my mother has $7000 in her account.
Hope her funds in her account were not borrowed/transferred by someone else.

She can certainly mention that she is living in a joint family/ancestral home. However, it won't help her TRV application as it implies there are other family members who are not dependent on her.

1. Does she have any financial investments like FDs, mutual funds, shares, LIC, etc?
2. Does she have any immediate family who are directly dependent on her? For example: Your unmarried siblings or your dad or your grandparents?
3. Does she have any compelling reason to return to India by a specific date?

Thanks for the reply Bryanna.
1. No
2. No. No unmarried sibling. I lost my father 4 years ago.
3. She has to submit life certificate in bank every year to continue pension.
