Can I go work in the US while my wife's visa is in progress?

I am a Canadian Citizen and my wife is in India. We applied for the spousal visa and recently got an acknowledgement. I set myself as the representative.

I now have an opportunity to work in the US which I don't want to lose and was wondering if my change of location will affect the application?

You can go to the US. You will need to update your address with IRCC and will likely be required to prove intent to return to Canada when the app is approved.

As a citizen you can do as you like you may just have to show evidence of where you will live in Canada and so on once your wife is over but other then that no problems.
