Our applicant was received May 1st, 2018. Since then sponsorship was approved, medical passed and my husband received pre-arrival services.

We are now at the processing stage for the background check.

Hopefully he will be interviewed soon and then if interview passes he will get PPR.

You still haven’t received your pre-arrival? I don’t even know if that means anything anymore or even if we married to Algerian spouse are meant to get it since maybe a number of Algerian PR applicants require the interview nonetheless. My husband and I are being positive about it thinking that its protocol for Algerians.

You never know with what you described on your relationship proof, you may not need an interview and go straight from background check to pre-arrival to PPR. From your description of your proof of relationship it seems you have an abundance so I couldn’t see why the interview would be required for your case unless it is a protocol for Algerian spouses as we mentioned.

My husband received his "Pre-arrival" last week YAYYYYYY finally!! and he signed up for it!!!! A representative called him from Vancouver and they talked about his employment expectations and the usefulness of the Pre-Arrival services web site, also about Health Insurance, Education, SIN etc. If was nice that he spoke to someone from here and that they actually called him. He was thrilled to speak to someone.

After they spoke to him, two days later the GCKey turned to "background check in process". Now we still wait. I am expecting them to contact him for an interview, face to face meeting.

When you receive "pre-arrival" services/email you need to sign up for them. From my understanding, when you sign up for them, they contact immigration and let them know that you have signed up and are getting the information pertaining to settlement in Canada. It is a "very" useful site, with a lot on information about life in Canada, such as health care, education and residential information etc. An agent will call your spouse from Canada and speak to them about their service.

My husband signed up for the pre-arrival service and an agent from Vancouver called him on his cell. They spoke about what his employment plans were, here in Canada. He was thrilled that they called him. It was nice for him to speak to someone, that is actually involved with the immigration process. It has lifted my husbands spirits and made him think and realize that humans are actually looking at our file/application.

I cant find a recent paris vo thread. Is anyone currently or scheduled to have their sponsorship papers sent there? And any indication on its relative speed of processing?

My wife is tunisian so im 99% sure our papers are eventually bound for france.

my husband is Tunisian aswell, your application will definitely be transferred to Paris. we are on month 11 now and they just sent us a message saying we need to resend backround. prepare for a year processing. we sent our app on march 12 2018

For some reason not everyone gets the Pre-arrival notification. I am not sure how they decide on who gets it or not but it’s Immigration that sends an email requesting that you sign up for it and in that link there is a portal where you sign up and then an officer will call the applicant and discuss employment options, further education, housing, etc.
