The "public policy" kind of protects you in this situation. Cic and cbsa have an agreement to not have applicants out of status deported. (Of course if people dont do anything they are not allowed to). Have a good evening!
This is not true. I found out personally when the cbsa officer told us personally the dont wait for an answer. Ive seen it happen for some so not sure why it works 4 some and not others. But its not always the case. Our 1st officer in oyr home city told us we would b fine. They would prob wait. But when we got called to Mississauga for prra interview the lady said no

We did. It was the only.option avail to us. Even tho our sponsorship app is so close to being done, the officer said its all we can do. They cannot speed up app and cannot wait 4 a decision. Im just about to send off the 2nd part of prra app within the week
I am sorry to hear that, usually since your app is so far processed they put in a deferral I am surprised the CBSA officer did not do that for you.

Nope. We thought so too. Especially since the officer who originally came to my house and that we were dealing with for 10 months here in our city before everything got sent to Mississauga said they probably would. When we got there we specifically asked her, more than once, and told her what the 1st officer said to us and she kept saying..no we don't do that. I even told her i know of other people who did get that . She looked at me like i was crazy. But some people have told me...once prra is denied and they call us back to start removal process, at that time might be when they do deferal. I sure hope so. Or hope get DM before prra comes back. April 13 app and still waiting on SA/AIP. Have a feeling ours will take long cuz of the whole CBSA issue tho. Ughhh

Super frustrating!! yeh the CBSA officer told us hopefully with PRRA this gives you time with processing. After hearing your story im not confident :( .

Our in land was just sent in Dec, and we don't even have a AOR yet let alone medical or anything else.

I really hope things work out for you.

This makes me anxious, I have been dealing with CBSA for almost a year, I waived PRRA as well, and haven't heard anything from my application.

UPDATE:

Sent inland sponsorship ..............December 6th 2018.
Received by Mississauga Immigration Office ...........December 11 2018.
AOR.....................................................................WAITING
CBSA interview for spouse..................January 8 2019 = Exclusion order
CBSA second interview for spouse....January 28 2019. = PRRA option

The result of January 8th meeting was a exclusion order, and the result of second interview was we where offered PRRA option.

We will be send in out PRRA application hoping it will buy us at least 6 moths or more. So our inland application at least gets some momentum.

We have 15 days from January 28 to apply for the PRRA.
Hey. thats good your appointment went well and that you are going to explore the PRRA route. I am surprise that they are "speeding up" as recently in the news it was stating that there is a bigger backlog in processing refugee claims and appeals. Regardless, you have time for your application to get approved.

There is a deferral if the exclusion order is received after the application is sent.

If Prra is refused there is still the deferral for those who sent the app before cbsa shows up.

Maybe that is why they do it different for some?

Dont get worried cuz of our experience. As i mentioned, ive seen many others luckier than us. Fingers crossed for u.

How did u get to waive prra and still wait tho? Dont they move forward with removal if u dont take it? Unless u have been granted deferral?

Thanks. I don't know, I haven't really heard anything from them nor IRCC and my application is due since July, so I don't really know what to expect, But I am definitely glad they haven't deported me.

Hi David, as your wait time is beyond ridiculous now, have you and your spouse consider obtaining a lawyer(not consultant) that will be retain ONLY hound CIC to finish the application? I know you use other options which seem to still halt your application. I think its time to now harass and be such an annoyance to them to finish your application and advise if approve or not. This is so difficult and it must really affect your ego being a man and not being able to do anything.

We would love to have a lawyer but we don't have the funds to do so. Sadly all the other options I tried did nothing, they did give us a timeline though and according to them it was a year counting from the day the application was sent to our local office, due date is in April. So yeah, imagine the frustration right now, luckily my wife and I keep busy all the time which is good. Thanks for your help :)

Latest on sponsorship app.
File transfered to BC for eligibility in Dec.
No notes as to why so agent thinks for work share
BGC changed to started Jan 17
Eligibility changed to being reviewed today.

With the fact we have issues with CBSA im really hoping we get somewhere fast. Any ideas how long after eligibility changes to hear anything again?

2nd part of PRRA app is being sent in next week. Fingers crossed we can finish sponsorship app before prra catches up to us
