Good day,

I have been dating my gf for 11 months and she is now pregnant. She is from mexico and i am wondering how to get her here full time legally and her 14 yr old son. My gf is also educated with her economics degree in Mexico

You can get them to apply for an eta hope that cbsa lets them in, get married and apply inland or marry her in mexico and apply outland.

what is an eta? being treaty first nation why would i have to hope cbsa lets anyone in that is having my baby no matter where they are from my kid will still be treaty no?

The fact that she is pregnant could concern the CBSA officer because she doesn't have health coverage. Has to do with her not you.

The big issue is health coverage. She will not qualify before the birth in many provinces. What province do you live in? What about the 14 year old's custody situation. It may be difficult to attend school until he is a PR.

So can i get health coverage? If i am treaty won't it automatically be covered? I am in Manitoba

I also work for goldcorp which has a great health plan who i am going to put her and her son on. Would that help?

Based on my research your gf won't get health coverage until she gets PR. You should doublecheck this because the websites didn't mention spouses of current citizens specifically. That would mean you would have pay for a the costs including delivery. The baby would be covered if they needed treatment. Your gf's son would also not be able to attend school for free until he got PR. He also wouldn't have healthcare until he got PR. To get PR his mother needs to have full custody or the permission of the father for him to move to Canada.

She won't be covered .. i am immigrating from the states and my husband(Canadian) and i had to pay out of pocket for our two babies birth and all of my doctors visits. Since they were born in Canada they were covered but i am not. I am not to sure how you could gwt her here only being together 11 months living separate. To be considered common law you hace to be livog together for 1 year i believe.

Once the baby is born, and you have a Canadian passport for it, then CBSA won’t have an issue with entry. Until then, the mother (your significant other) is a foreign national and has to meet the criteria to enter Canada. Even after the baby is born, the mother still faces the same requirements for anyone who isn’t a citizen or PR. Your status and that of the baby (Canadian or treaty) has no bearing on her status in Canada until she becomes a permenent resident.

Thanks for all the help everyone. Man this country sucks. Let in all these people for nothing but can't help out someone who's people are actually from here. Terrible

The country does not suck because it has laws, like every other country, that prevent foreign nationals from moving here without following the proper process.

Canada didn't make her get pregnant while you were living in separate countries and hadn't figured out immigration yet. That's all on you guys. Family planning is a thing.

Your partner can easily come to Canada as a visitor. You are in a far more fortunate position than many because she does not need a TRV. You can get married and apply for sponsorship.
