hi. I’m moving from vancouver to toronto to start working for uber. Do I need to cancel my BC care card and driver license? Or just apply for new ones in Toronto. What if I come back to Vancouver in a few years etc. also anything else that needs to be done when moving to Toronto. Thank you

1. You just exchange your DL in Ontario and apply for OHIP, your MSP covers you during the waiting period.

When did you arrive in BC? Did you use your MSP? There are residency requirements for each province to receive healthcare.

Thank you. Do I need to call and cancel my BC msp plan ? Also does The monthly Ohip cost the same as the BC counterpart?

I arrived in June 2018. No I haven’t used my msp before, but I’ve been paying my msp monthly fee for 5 months now

You believe you just meet the residency requirement if I remember correctly but you also haven't used your MSP. There are directions only on how to transfer to OHIP but there is a waiting period. Don't cancel your MSP and payments until you get your OHIP. Not sure your reasons for moving but the cost living is still high in Toronto just not as bad as Vancouver. Tough to survive as a Lyft or Uber driver.

Also don't believe Uber drivers are making anywhere near 6K/month in Toronto. Is there a reason you are determined to drive for Uber or Lyft?
