Hi all.
We will be arriving on express entry visas in Canada soon. Our son is studying outside of Canada but his permanent home is with us. He will be coming home for vacations but the majority of his time is spent at college. By the end of our 5 years we will apply for citizenship but he won't have fulfilled the 1,095 days inside of Canada. He is currently 19 and will be 24 by the time we apply for citizenship. Will proving that Canada was his permanent home during his studies help his case? What can we do to include him in our application or is there another way for us to apply for him for citizenship too? All help is greatly appreciated! TIA.

You cannot apply for him unless he is physically present in Canada for 1095 days in the 5 years preceding the application, so he will not be able to apply with you.
As well, he needs to meet PR RO to remain a PR of Canada, so make sure he does that, otherwise he will not be able to keep his PR!

You don't have to wait 5 years after landing as PR to apply for citizenship. Per current rules 3 years is enough if you live continuously in Canada. I don't think minors have to satisfy the residency requirement but your son will be 22 in 3 years so I don't know if he'll qualify as a minor or not.

Since he is 19 he is no more considered as minor he need to apply as normal adult when he is eligible. Rules keep changing for eligibility,2018 new rule came up. By the time you are eligible for citizenship the rule may change again, you have long time to go.
