Hello everyone,

I'm grateful to learn from the information shared on this form by all members :) Thank you for helping each other. I'm going to apply for my PR by the end of this month through the CEC. I have a question about my NOC. I'm working as a Program Assistant and I found that my job duties fall under the following two NOCs:

1223 Human resources and recruitment officers
1241 Administrative assistants

Here is a list of my job duties:
  • Designs and produces brochures, posters and promotional materials for Sheriff Recruit Training for signoff by the Superintendent, OPS.
  • Types, formats and proof reads a variety of documents and materials such as presentation material graphs, flow charts, tables, reports, briefing notes, correspondence, spreadsheets from draft or hand-written notes using desktop tools.
  • Addresses questions and provides information received from the general public and partner organizations about the Sheriff recruitment process, program policies, regulations and procedures.
  • Acts as the OPS contact for facilities and equipment issues (e.g. furniture, photocopiers, computers) and ensures problem resolution.
  • Monitors inventory, purchases office supplies and materials and recommends the purchase and/or repair of furniture and equipment required by the office.
  • Monitors and supports timely Time and Leave Management completion and advises the Superintendent and/or delegate when action is required.
  • Process invoices for uniforms and equipment and training facility rentals, including coding and checking for accuracy and completeness.
  • Exercises spending authority using the corporate purchasing card with a limit of $7,500, verifies invoices and reconciles statements for payment.
  • Completes business expense approval forms for meeting costs.
  • Provides administrative support in the recruitment and selection process by creating and maintaining competition files, preparing documents related to the competition process, verifying candidate eligibility, sorting resumes for shortlisting and scheduling testing and interviews.
  • Makes travel arrangements and completes all related travel authorizations and expense reimbursements on behalf of the Superintendent.
  • Processes various human resources (HR) requests (such as recruitment), by tracking and supporting related processes, etc. (e.g. maintain a checklist of steps, ensuring appropriate documentation is prepared, proactively ensure steps are in place for efficient transition).
  • Schedules meetings, makes necessary arrangements (e.g., meeting dates and locations, required equipment, and catering), prepares agendas with pertinent background information, tracks action items and takes and distributes minutes on behalf of the Superintendent OPS.
I would appreciate if you can help me with choosing the correct NOC for my job.

Thanks :)

LMIA is not compulsory. If your job is exempt from LMIA, then you don't need one. But job offer must be there. How long is the job duration?
I also haven't came across something like this.
Hi @mdilushi @TanakaM

The job offer is fulltime. No specific end date but safe to say, more than a year. Basically, the job they'll offer me is the same job role I am doing now in my home country.

Is there an email address or web form inquiry specific for EE questions that I could use to ask CIC?

Thanks a lot for all the help!

Yes, that can count toward your points when calculating if you have the minimum 67 points for FSW
Hi Yam
i have created EE profile and i got invitation to apply but my work experience is 11 months.
My question is that can i work one more month to complete 1 year work experience and then after will apply under the same invitation because we have 60 days(2 months) to submit the application or do i have to have 1 year work experience complete at the time of invitation?

Any answer would be highly appreciated.

Hi all,

How much of our roles and responsibilities should match match with that of NOC? In my case, it is almost 50 percent. Is that fine?

Dear All, I am ready to submit my EE application with a estimated CRS of 445. My question may be quite polarizing but.... I tend to do all by myself and do not hire a consultant. Could you please let me know your thoughts about it? Tks

That's the whole point of this forum. Many people in this forum apply by themselves and a majority of them are successful.

I am currently in canada on a work permit and will complete 1 year in canada by Feb 2019 and hoping that I will get ITA under canadian experience class for express entry. The problem is my passport expires on Jan 2020 and not sure if I should renew it before submitting the profile? Is it required to have 6 months validity on passport while submitting the passport for pr visa stamping?

Hi all,

My company did not mention the annual salary in the reference letter. Can I submit the salary slip along with the letter?

Hi,

It's really upto you and it makes no difference. All you need is to have at least 1year work experience in any qualifying NOC. So you can claim experience in both NOCs but select any one of the to be your primary NOC.

Hi,

Can anybody help me identify my NOC code to maximize the score of 3 - year experience please.
1, My present NOC is 1223 working from September 2017 to today => 1 year of exp (main duties are activities related to Recruitment function)
2, My previous NOC is 1121 working from September 2015 to September 2017 => 2 year of exp
Kindly clarify which NOC I can choose to Maximize The Score Of 3 - Year Experience ?

Besides, I’m not sure about the NOC code 1121, can anyone help me to decide which NOC will be better match for my everyday job duties compared to NOC 1121?

I perform some or all of the following duties (motivate, engage and retain employees, and will use this to shape engagement activities)

1. Company‘s communication and events

- Preparing to deliver relevant messages to whole company through the relevant media (Fan page, Newsletter, Workshop, Meeting..)

- Regularly getting staff’s feedback to improve the engagement level.
3. Take the responsibility for Onboarding process
- Preparing and sending Offer Letter to candidates.
- Setting up meeting for Induction and training day for new hires.

It's all on the CIC site: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/index.asp

But...

(Please note that this info does not apply to the Federal Skilled Trades Program)

1) Determine your eligibility by doing this CIC quiz http://www.cic.gc.ca/ctc-vac/ee-start.asp

2) Get your language test(s) done. You must get at least CLB 7 in each of the four sections for the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW), Provincial Nomination Program (PNP) or Canadian Experience Class (CEC) streams. But getting CLB 10 gives you maximum points for language.

How does CLB match back to the language tests? That info is here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/language/charts.asp

3) Get your qualifications assessed by doing an Education Credential Assessment. Details here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/assessment.asp

4) Determine the code that best applies to you on the National Occupation Classification (NOC) list http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/noc.asp

The occupation must be NOC 0, A, or B for FSW or CEC.

5) When you have those in hand you create your express entry profile. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/profile.asp and register for the Job Bank http://www.jobbank.gc.ca/home-eng.do?lang=eng

You'll be given points based on your age, education, number of years work experience, and language skills. The points system is detailed here --> http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/express-entry/grid-crs.asp

You'll be in a pool with thousands of other applicants http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/pool.asp

Of course, the more points you have the better. The max is 1200, with 600 of those points coming from your ability to snag a PNP or a job offer with a very hard to get Labour Market Impact Assessment http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/work/employers/lmo-basics.asp

For CEC applicants, the max is 600 but someone who has no work experience in Canada who is only eligible for FSW can only get up to 520 points.

6) Finally, wait for your invitation to apply (ITA). But in the interim you will need to do the following:

a) Have your application fee (C$550 each for principal applicant and spouse) and right of permanent resident fee (C$490 each for principal applicant and spouse) ready
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/fees.asp

b) Identify how you will provide proof of funds http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/funds.asp

c) check out what is required for the police certificates http://www.cic.gc.ca/English/information/security/police-cert/index.asp

d) find out how long it takes to get a date for the medical exam. http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/medical/medexams-perm.asp

e) contact previous and current employers about them providing job letters. You must have at least 12 months of full-time, or an equal amount in part-time, skilled work experience. Full-time work means at least 30 hours of paid work per week. Work experience while you were a full-time student does not count.

f) research cities in the province(s) where you want to live.
Hai Yam Power, thanks for sharing, I managed to get by the as the eligible applicant, but I actual took TOIEC test not IELTS, but soon I will do IELTS. Anyway, I tried to "create your express entry profile" as stated on point 5) but it got to be from Sign-in partner or GCKey, what does it mean? Thank you very much.

You cannot use a sign in partner unless you have, for instance, Canadian bank accounts. GC key abbreviates to Government of Canada key. Since you don't have one, you have to create one. You'll use this to login to your myCIC account.

Hi,
While creating EE profile in the job title field, Should we put it as job titles in company offer letter or as per NOC code which we are applying for?
In our IT companies, job titles are different from the NOC code titles. Hence this question is raised. Please advise.

Thanks in Advance

You should be entering the title on your reference letter and other work documents.

Hi,

Can someone pls let me know if I any increase in CSR points can be expected if I add the details of my uncle (who is a Canadian permanent resident) in my EE profile? He is now settled in Alberta.

Also, with a CRS of 367 can I expect NOI from any province in the near future?

There are no CRS points for having an uncle in Canada. You get 15 points if you have a sibling.

Not all provinces have a CRS based NOI system. For some provinces, you might have to check when they are open and initiate an application AFAIK.

I would recommend that you try and get more CRS points if possible. The most efficient way is by getting a CLB9 in IELTS if you don't already have it .
