Apply for health card with work permit

I'm not working yet, cause I got my work permit last week. I'm pregnant, but want to apply for health card . Is it possible to have it soon. Or do I have to wait three months. Also my papers for PR are in process. I'm in Ontario.

Unfortunately you have to wait, i waited 3 months before i got mine. apply now though (you'll save an extra few weeks of processing time).

You also need a job that lasts at least 6 months to qualify to apply for OHIP then you need to wait 3 months. Other option is waiting until you get AIP then go through the process to start the 3 month waiting period.
