Hello everyone,
I just accepted from Fanshawe College London Ontario Jan 2,2019 for September 2019 intake
Im about to submit my requirements for student visa application by March because It is still not complete. My course cost 15,500cad for One year, a post secondary certificate program. My question is how much proof of funds I need to show to the VO for them to approve my application? My sponsor already have 25,000+cad in the Bank and have assets like real state property, business, and currently employed to a company.Which will served as a supporting documents, that she can support my studies for 1year period but my Agency is telling That I need to prepare atleast 62,000 cad for the VO To approve. I already paid 2,300 cad for my initial tuition fee and reservation of the seat to the college. My follow up question is, Should I still apply for visa application?despite the advice of my agency gave.Thank You in advance :)

Kabayan, if you can apply under SDS do so. There is less financial documents to worry about. Rule of thumb is to show a liquid fund of CAD$10k (approximate cost of living for one year) and enough funds for your tuition fees. There are applicants who got approval with just 1 semester paid, though.

I grabbed the college offer because they are not requiring IELTS, and the fact that We have a relative residing in canada that is why we settle for regular program.but I don’t know why in regular program you need to show 2.5million-3million pesos as a proof of funds?

Lot of people use study permit to migrate to Canada , many people use colleges as a cheap way to get a open work permit after graduation and then apply for express entry.

This is why for colleges there are very lengthy restrictions and they require a lot of financial proof before they give study permit. If you were to study at a university you will have less paperwork than even SDS.

But for the financial proof I have, which is 25,000+cad will it not be enough? For the visa officer to grant me a study permit? Because the 65,000cad that my agency is requiring me to show is too much.

You should have your tuition + 10000 CAD. If you have prepaid part of your tuition and you still have 25000 CAD then you should be fine. 65,000 CAD is a bit on the higher side. If you have not paid anything then 27-30 thousand CAD should be fine.

Apart from the money We have in the bank I have the separate money for the half of my tuition fee. But my plan is to pay it after they issue me student visa because if I will pay half of the tuition fee before they issue me permit.either it will be approve or disapprove refund of the tuition fee will be another problem.

The you have to show proof of this seperate money along with your bank. 25000 is a little bit less. You need 15500 + 10000 which is 25500 and you can add a thousand to be on the safe side. So 26-27 thousand should be enough.

If the asker is going to live with his canadian relative should this be written in his letter as proof of a place to stay?

I submitted a letter from my brother-in-law in my visa application that says he will provide me with accomodation as well as daily expenses. @selvakk is right, even with a letter of support, I still submitted my GIC of CAD$10k as cost of living expenses (apart from the full 1 year tuition I paid upfront to my college).

Financial support from direct relatives is not mandatory for visa application. Sometimes it may even hurt your application if the VO thinks you cannot afford your studies. A lot of applicants got approval without relatives support.
