My husband worked in Canada on a farm for 4 years I met him and we got married and had a baby we been married for 3 uears I been applying for visiting visa’s I applied in October for visiting visa and they refused it but we just got descison a few days ago can I still sponsor him?

I am legally married have been for 3 years and we have a child I am doing papers now I was getting a lawyer bc I am scared where his visa has been rejected I will have a hard time what do u think??? His visa was up nov 30 2018 and they just gave us a decision 2 days ago

His visitor visa will have no bearing on the permanent residency process. He will get the PR based on you proving that your relationship is genuine, as well as meeting the eligibility requirements.

When the forms ask you, do declare that he had a visa application rejected, as lying about it would be misrepresentation and would jeopardize the application.

Most cases don't require lawyers either. Take a breath, read through the guides, go over your forms and requirements, and see if you really need one or if you're just panicking.

Never used a lawyer and got my husband PR application approved.
Is your husband from the caribbean?
His visitor visa wont affect it no, plenty ppl gets it denied. They prob feel he wont return home.

Do his application, check whats required as well first. Its not hard.
Answer honestly! Declare his other children if any.

It took us 10 months for approval
U could retry the visitor visa at another time; i find its a waste of money though

Yes my husband is from Jamaica so I pay fee even if application not done yet , he has been in Canada for 3 yes with me living with me on a visiting visa this time they rejected it we have a 2 ur old son he does have a son in Jamaica who we send money to every month as well

You can apply for PR and restoration of status.

Why didn't you file for PR earlier? After 3 years CIC feels like has remained in Canada for long enough as a visitor and he is actually living in Canada not visiting that's why he was refused.

I was gonna say jamaican hehe nice man, ive lived in jamaica before and helped some with that farmers program
You should have applied while he was here then you are on implied status while he waits for his application to complete

But you have enough to easily get PR now! Go for it!!

I would not suggest a lawyer because nothing you wrote seems like you need a lawyer. This forum has a wealth of advice use it and ask us questions we can help you.
