Hi , I got an email from NDVO stating"Dear Sir/Madam,

This is in response to your recent email enquiry to the Immigration Section of the Canadian High Commission in New Delhi.

Following a review of this application by an officer, it was determined that an interview is required in order to render a decision.

Our website, http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/index.asp, is maintained to reflect recent estimated processing times.

If the applicant has not yet been provided with a specific interview date, it is not likely that the interview would take place prior to the dates indicated on the website, which are based on current projections. Please note, however, that processing times can vary based on the number of new applications received and the individual complexity of cases.

Please note that our office is normally in touch with the applicant between four to eight weeks prior to the date of interview."

i have not received any date or time of interview although I got a call from NDVO and they asked me my class 12th exam centre code , was this the interview?

No, the call was not the interview. You would need to attend an interview, in-person, at NDVO.

It seems NDVO is scrutinizing your Class 12 examination information. If NDVO is satisfied with the checks then the interview might be waived off.

Either which way, you will be informed about the interview

As far as I know and I have read on the forum, if the embassy requires an interview they send a call letter with the exact date and time mentioned. Moreover on the gc key it still states that we don't need an interview. Could you also suggest me that should I withdraw my application as my classes have already begun and I don't have any extension.

That's right or else applicants are told on the phone too. In your case, the call was only for the examination centre code. It wasn't to schedule the interview.

The status has probably not been updated because the interview hasn't been scheduled yet. Your processing status is the one stated in the email.

No, I suggest you don't withdraw/cancel your application. It would only create more doubts especially as IRCC has not refused you upfront but is still giving you an opportunity to clarify your situation in an interview.

Even if you request to cancel the processing, your application would remain in IRCC records + the decision to allow/not to allow cancelling the processing is with IRCC

Thanks for the reply. I wanted to ask you one more question , the last date for registering for my classes was 11th January but as I did not get any update, I mailed the college and the embassy that I'd like to Withdraw my application as the deadline has passed and now there's no point. But today my college confirmed me that they'll be sending me a new letter of acceptance and will defer my admission to September 2019, so I wanted to know that as I mailed the embassy earlier to withdraw but now I want to defer so what should I do and how should I send the new LOA by email/mail/fax/web form?

You must email the letter to NDVO

should I apply for GCMS notes to know the exact reason for the delay and the interview ?
You will most likely get the case notes after your interview + the notes may/may not give you the complete details of your case.

I would instead do a complete review of your application to determine if there are any false/incorrect information or gaps in your application.... and prepare for the interview

Hey!

My visa was approved on 23rd January and it was stamped on 18th January! I only had a telephonic interview!
