Hi Everyone!
I'm getting ready for my common law partner and I to file out my Permanent Residency applications and just had some questions.
We were looking to make sure we had a good amount of evidence to support proof of our relationship before we mail everything in.
I came to Canada on 2011 on a Study Visa and graduated school in 2013. I am now on my post graduation work permit, have worked full time for a year, and support the both of us. Currently my fiancee has no income, and I know this is mostly irrelevant, but I am hoping that my permanent job offer letter as well as letters of pay increase are sufficient proof that we can support ourselves
So far we are obtaining notarized statements from my fiancee's mother and her boyfriend, and my fiancee's sister to validate our relationship. At this time we will be signing our statutory declaration.
We didn't sign a residential lease, but our landlord has volunteered to write a statement saying that we've been living together for the past 3 years.
Additionally, I have travel itineraries of our flights together from when our relationship started.
We also have lots of mail saved up to our current address over the past 3 years.
Of course, we have pictures, chat logs, and keepsakes as well.
We do not keep joint bank accounts, although my fiancee has a supplementary card attached to one of mine.
I've also filed taxes in Canada for the past two years with my fiancee listed as my common law partner, and she is also a benefactor on my life insurance through work.
I just wanted to make sure if this would be sufficient evidence of our relationship. If needed, we can also obtain some more notarized statements from friends to validate our relationship.
If there's anything else I could include as part of the application that would help, or if this is sufficient proof, it would be greatly appreciated if this could be confirmed. Thanks!
