Hello everyone,
I need you guys to give me advices.
I have been in the relationship with my spouse for 4 years before getting married. However, we just met each other once in my country for 1 month then another 10 days in another country. Then it is only calls, texts and money transfers in 4 years. Personally, I think physical proof matters most.
We got married in Canada on August 2018 then applied for sponsors on September 2018.
At the moment, Im pregnant for 3 months. My application is pending due to lack of Xray test.
In short, Im wondering if I should wait until my baby is born to do Xray, so we have more time being together with more proofs.
Or I should do my Xray as soon as possible so the process can be processed continually?
Ps: I can choose to do Xray at 3 months pregnancy or after due day.
Thanks in advance!

X-ray can be harmful for your baby, it's better to not do it. Since you are inland, you are lucky that you can be with him while you wait. It's also better for the proofs as you said.

As per my analysis and confirmation from radiologist, chest X-ray has no impact on baby as they cover abdomen with lead apron and they use low radiation.

NOTE: Please check with your doctor and take advise before you do the X-ray

Most doctors advise against doing unnecessary x-rays during pregnancy especially in 1st and early 2nd trimester. If it was medically necessary they would likely recommend doing the x-ray. You should discuss this with your MD. What province are you living in? The bigger issue is your wife's access to medical care as a visitor.

Well the doctor said to me that its okay to do it from the month 3.
Im just wondering if I should take more time to have more proof of relationship together since we will have a kid together, it would be so terrible if they refuse our application due to lack of proofs.

Hello, thanks for your answer.
However, Im not asking about the Xray for pregnancy since I talked to my doctor already.
Im just wondering about if I should take more time until the baby is born, so we have more proofs of relationship. Since we have a kid together, it would be horrible for us to decide who stays with the kid if our application is refused due to lack of proofs.

Hi, thanks for your answer.
However, can you read my repply above?
Im living in Quebec. I was informed by my friend that I can have provincial insurance after having owp. But not sure if its true, but we are aware of paying out of pocket for the baby no matter what.

I believe you need a a job that lasts at least 6 months or AIP to qualify for RAMQ. Just getting an OWP will not get you RAMQ. Would encourage you to make contact with RAMQ versus relying on friends.

Hi, I get the carde du soleil for my wife today and actually you do not need a job that lasts at least 6 month to get it. As long as you have a work permit or your spouse has a work permit, you can get the health card. Congrats on your pregnancy and my wife also got pregnant and we are in the process of application of EE

Congratulations! Thank you but it is not possible for me to get health care. Im living in Qc and we went to Ramq to meet them in person. I dont have Work permit, only Open work permit and keep in mind that they are completely different. Open work permit in their eyes simply means “visitor”.

It is dependent on the province. Others need the job that will last at least 6 months.

Based on your previous posts it seems like you are only in Quebec temporarily until you get your PR. There are residency obligations in Quebec to get coverage or you could be asked to pay back the services you used.

Conditions for remaining eligible
Being away from Québec could render you ineligible for health insurance. You would then have to repay all the costs of the covered healthcare services you received during the year. RAMQ can verify your presence in Québec.

Persons who have already taken up or who are taking up residence in Québec
You must be present in Québec 183 days or more per calendar year (January 1 to December 31) to remain eligible. Certain absences are not tallied:

  • absences of 21 consecutive days or less
  • days of departure and return
Exceptions may apply for a prolonged absence if you are outside Québec, for instance, to pursue studies, work or training. For more information, refer to the page Eligibility during the stay.

Example of calculation of an absence for eligibility purposes

Absence of 210 days from February 1 to December 31 in a given year

Destination

Departure date
(not tallied)

Return date
(not tallied)

Number of days away

Number of days away that are tallied to determine eligibility

Florida March 1
June 30

According to this example, you would lose your eligibility for the full year, except if you qualified for an exception (e.g. 7-year provision 7-year provision
Once every 7 years, you may be absent from Québec 183 days or more in a given year and still remain eligible for Québec health insurance. This provision applies for long vacations.
). You would have to assume the healthcare costs that you incurred in Québec and outside of Québec over that year.
