Once we link our applications online via GCKey, Do we still receive email alerts when there is a communication from CIC or do we need to login to the account to check whether there are any changes/messages?

They sent it from this email: Centralized-Intake-Office@cic.gc.ca

I spoke with hubby and he said he didn't get anything. So I guess the sponsor gets it first?

Spoke to my wife as well and she didn't get anything. I am the sponsor. I think AOR2 is when the Applicants are contacted. Sponsors part is largely done at this point. Most communication from here on will be directed to principal Applicant

Hey All, I got my AOR email today (Jan 16) and attempted to use the Application Number and Sponsor UCI to link my application however I am unable to do so. Their system cannot seem to find my application. Anyone else experiencing this? Any tips?

When linking the application is it the sponsor or applicant who creates the account?

It's the principal applicants details.

Step by step:

1. Press Link application to this Account
2. Permanent Residence - Family Class (Spouse or Common law etc)
3. Application Number and Family Name - Copy/paste application number from email (including the F) and enter PA's last name.
4. Select one of two options next: Place of Birth or Passport Details.
5. Fill PA's info for the option you selected above and not both at the same time.
6. Put the Details of the City where the PA plans to reside after getting PR, this info should match with what you put in form IMM0008.
7. Put your marital status.
8. Input the number of members in your application.

You get five attempts a day before being locked out till the next day I believe.

Followed these steps and still no luck in finding application. Is there any delay in between AOR and ability to link application maybe?

There's a few tips around the forum about leaving spaces after the name and the passport number etc. Have a little search around for linking your application.

Some people who've received AOR today have been able to link straight away, so I couldn't tell you if there's any sort of delay.

Also, from what I read on this forum the No. Of applicants = 2 (PA + Sponor) + other dependants such as kids.

Try 2 for number of people in the application if it’s just you and your spouse
