After submitting the application online, I've received the conformation email that the application is under process. Is waiting for the email the only thing to do or are there other ways of communicating with the cic.gc.ca?
My ticket is booked for the 25th of Jan 2019. I didn't get any reply yet. Please suggest. Thanks.

Processing time from China is 18 days on average. Might take longer since you’re a third country national. Nothing you can do but wait. It’s not advised to book tickets before a visa is granted, and you should have applied sooner.

Thanks for your prompt reply. Basically , my company booked my tickets so there wasn't a lot I could do. Also, given the fact that it's the biggest holiday of the year around this time in China, the rush applications might also be a reason for the delay. Could I know what happens when they think my application is accepted? I've read it but would feel content if someone more experienced would say it out. Thanks again.

If approved they’ll send you a letter in your online account requesting to send your passport. If refused, they’ll also send a letter in your account with a list of reasons.

They’ll process the application without regarding the travel dates you listed in your application even if you included plane tickets. There’s a small chance you’ll get a decision ahead of the posted times; all you can do is hope and wait.

Thanks for the reply, I have received the refusal letter.
I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay as a temporary resident, as stipulated in paragraph 179(b) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
• I am not satisfied that you have a legitimate business purpose in Canada.
Those are the reasons.
Would you kindly please tell me how to go about it next time?
