My 1 year PGWP expires Oct 21, 2019, but I was hired September 17, 2018. Do you think I could update my express profile so I can hopefully get pulled and apply for PR to by time? OINP is a very tedious process so I am trying to avoid it. Thoughts?

Not sure I understand the question. You would become eligible on Sept 16, 2019, assuming you are working full-time in a skilled occupation. That would leave you more than a month to earn an ITA and submit your eAPR. This is not a lot of time, however. Assuming you have enough points to get an ITA right away, you would need to be prepared to submit right away (e.g. police clearances, letters from past employers, etc), to retain your eligibility for a Bridging Open Work Permit (your BOWP application would have to be received by 21 Oct 2019; need to include the AOR with that.).

Sorry. I was told my work experience is not counted before the permit was approved. So even though my 1 year anniversary is Sep 17th. IRCC will count it from Oct 31. So I wanted to submit immediately as you suggested and do everything at once incuding the OBWP.

My concern was being penalized if I use Sep in my profile instead of the October recognized date.

Your work experience is authorized from the date you submit the PGWP application. You can count the experience from Sept 17 as long as you applied for the PGWP before then.

Is this documented anywhere on the cic website for confirmation because the date of approval for PGWP is what I have been seeing for eligible work experience. Just to be safe. Thanks

Hey, I would love to see proof of this on IRCC's site or application guides.

Not sure if i can locate that now. Do u have a link?
I looked for it but couldn't find anything concrete. It does say that work experience under implied status counts but implied status means you have to stick to the conditions of your original permit.

Well the conditions before acquiring the PGWP was that we could work full time. The work permit before was study permit. So are u responding as a rep from Cohen?

Work experience under a study permit does not count, no exceptions there. If you were working full time while on a study permit, it needs to have been during your summer break or similar but regardless will not be counted. In your case then the calculation starts from the date the PGWP came into effect.

Also no lol I'm not representing Cohen. I don't know if they have reps who use the forums.

Just FYI though I'm in the same situation as you. I am currently on a 1 year PGWP that expires in July. I applied to the OINP as an international student with a job offer. I'll be applying for a closed work permit after nomination, before my PGWP expires. My employer will (hopefully) agree to go through the process and submit a job offer to IRCC. It's a pain in the butt going through the OINP paper based streams but it's my only option since I have less than a year of Canadian experience.

Well those were my thoughts originally until you suggested what u did. Thanks. Yes I am considering the OINP but wish to avoid if possible. Were u required to meet at median wage rate? And did they ask for any details from the company that was too extreme? Like title, records etc?

I was required to meet the low income cutoff. On mobile right now so I can't give you the link to that source.

They asked for standard business information from the company as well as info about my position. My company is VERY secretive about their info so the fact that they agreed is a ray of hope for you, I think. The company is not required to show their recruitment efforts etc.
