Biometrics Requirement

Hello everyone,

I am not sure if you are aware of this change or not, but I recently came to know that applicants from India would now have to give their biometrics, which wasn't the requirement before; however, that is the case now. Now my question is:

1) My AOR is October 10th and at that point of time Biometrics wasn't required.

2) Would I receive a message or any sort of update from CIC if the requirement changes?

3) I read somewhere that it is to be enacted from December 31st of 2018, so does that mean that people getting their ITA from Jan onwards, would only be required ?

Hi All,

I am here on work permit and had given my biometrics around 2 years ago for my work permit application.
Now I am in Canada.

I got my ITA in April for PR and need to submit all documents in 2 days. Till yesterday I was under impression that BIOMETRICS will not be needed in my case and old one can be used.

I just got to know that after 14th June 2023, rules are changed. IRCC asks all applicants to do BIOMETRICS who applies on/after 14th June 2023 even if they have valid biometrics from work permit etc.

Can someone have more info on this and can guide?

If I need to give biometrics then I can submit my PR application and then apply for biometric separately?
