Hi, I'm from Hong Kong and will be flying to Toronto for my first landing next week (my landing paper will expire on 29 Jan). I'm hoping that some of you here could guide me through some of the procedures which I need to go through.

1) I'm staying just for a few days and will return to Hong Kong for work after registering for my PR card. I will still be working in Hong Kong till July 2019.
2) I read from this forum that the PR card registration should be smooth as long as I have a friend's address. But would registering for SIN card and a bank account make me liable to paying Canadian tax for the period Jan - July 2019?
3) I am aware that I need to declare all the items that I bring into the border. But since I'm still yet to settle for long when I arrive next week, should I declare the items that I carry with me on my first landing and the stuff that will come after in July 2019 separately? How precise is the declaration of items expected to go (as it would be a challenge to estimate exactly the stuff that I will ship to Canada in July)?
4) Apart from the documents previously submitted to the express entry system and the CoPR landing paper, is there anything that I must bring on my first landing?
5) Finally - a silly question. I remember reading a post on this forum saying that the Canadian immigration expects new comers to establish real residential ties in Canada upon their first landing. So returning Hong Kong after my registration for PR card is not a "fully legitimate" thing to do... To what extent is this true? Will the immigration officer find out that I'm flying back to my home country in a matter of days?

I hope people who have similar experiences could offer input on the above matters. Valuable advice and tips are highly appreciated. A million thanks.

Whether or not you need to file tax for 2019 is dependent on your resident status, not your immigration status
https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-agency/services/tax/international-non-residents/individuals-leaving-entering-canada-non-residents/newcomers-canada-immigrants.html

Passport and COPR should suffice. If you want, also bring a copy of your proof of funds

You can fly back to HK the same day if you want. Not an issue
Thanks very much for your help. Very clear clarification indeed.

Based on your experience, is it a good idea to set up a Canadian bank account during my first landing? Or is it better to do this when I move there for real?

I'd say it depends. If you plan to move funds before you actually move here then maybe open an account first. It's entirely up to you really. If you'll be spending a few days here after landing, just shop around. Most banks offer newcomer packages
Just keep in mind you need to declare at the border if you bring $10K or more in cash/cheque into Canada.
