Time for PR processing

Hello,
I have completed the document submission after receipt of ITA in Sept 2018. However, after approx 4 months I still am waiting to recieve any information concerning my PR (FSW). The website just gives the regular time of 6 months. Since the past 3 months it is saying that '' We are processing your background check'' and '' We are reviewing your eligibility.
Will this be the maximum time or can the process be completed quickly? Is there another way to know?

The entire process has created a gap in my job. Should I take up another temporary job?
Any sort og guidance would be appreciated.

6 months is normal and you should not panic. you had your reasons to quit your job, but I would say to live your life as there was no PR in the future... "prepare for the worst and hope for the best". everything will be fine. don't rush it. get a job, this way time will pass more easily and very soon you will get the golden email

Thank You for the reply. Is it that approx 90% applications take 6 months or majority are completed within six months? For now I shall start looking for something. Really appreciate your advise.
