Hi All,
I am Indian male holding a Canadian PR and working in Toronto. I plan to get married in April this year to an Indian girl.
I had a couple of questions:
1. How long does it take to typically get the PR if I sponsor my wife through the outland sponsorship route?
2. If I go through the inland sponsorship route -
a. How long does it typically take to get PR?
b. How long does it typically take to get open work permit?
c. If she has a visitor visa for Canada before marriage, is there any chance my wife would be stopped from entering the country at the port of entry?
d. How long can my wife stay in Canada if her PR is not approved (in process) before her visitor visa expiry?
3. What kind of proof for marriage will be needed apart from photos, marriage certificate from India, chats, call records etc if its an arranged marriage? (We know each other only since 4-5 months)
4. Will my wife have to update her Indian passport to reflect husband name for the PR process? or that won't be necessary if we have the marriage certificate?
You help on these questions will be highly appreciated.
