Hello friends,

While calculating total foreign working experience - there is a line which read as : "It must have been continuous, paid, full-time (or an equal amount in part-time), and in only one occupation."

My query is what does this one occupation mean?

I have a working experience of 2.7 years in a bank falling under NOC 0122 and 9 months experience under CA firm and it falls under NOC 1111.

Will my Foreign working experience for CRS calculation will be counted as 2.7 years or 3.6 years ???? Further, is it mandate to have 12 months continuous experience in each job or only in primary occupation??

Thank you in advance

One occupation means one NOC.
Don't worry, you indeed fulfill the requirements with the NOC 0122 as it's at least 1-year continuous (with no breaks in time), in one NOC.
You then can add any NOC to accumulate work experience points. So it will indeed be 2.7 years + 9 months.
Just make sure you include both of them in work history section, and have reference letters with duties for each position.

The 1 year continuous minimum requirements is only for the primary occupation. The others can be less than 1 year.

Your skilled work experience must be:
  • in the same type of job (have the same NOC) as the job you want to use for your immigration application (called your primary occupation)
  • within the last 10 years
  • paid work (This means you must have been paid wages or earned commission. Volunteer work or unpaid internships don’t count.)
  • at least 1 year of continuous work or 1,560 hours total (30 hours per week). You can meet this in a few different ways:
    • full-time at 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
    • equal amount in part-time: 15 hours/week for 24 months = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
    • full-time at more than 1 job: 30 hours/week for 12 months at more than 1 job = 1 year full time (1,560 hours)
For part-time work, you can work more or less than 15 hours/week as long as it adds up to 1,560 hours.

We don’t count any hours you work above 30 hours/week.
