Open spousal work permit

Hi,

I currently live and work in canada on work permit.. I want to apply for my wife open spousal work permit application .. My case is clear and not complicated.. I hired a lawyer and he reply me very late and the application is getting late from being submitted.. I have collected everything police report, upfront medical, bank statement, proof of funds, digital photo, marriage certificate ... can some one tell me what should i do ? should i end my engagement with the lawyer and submit application online my self ?? Also one thing how I will upload all supporting documents..

You should ask your application number to your lawyer so you can track the progress on the web. If it is not provided I’d suggest visiting any immigration services office to check the status. The average response time is 8-10 weeks.

Hi, could I ask you a question? Are you a foreign worker on a temporary work permit? Can your spouse apply for an open work permit even if you're on a temporary work permit? Or can your spouse only apply for open work permit if you're a skilled worker?
