Staying in Canada with TRV more than 6 months while waiting on work permit

I have applied for my moms work permit last week, however, her 6 months stay with her TRV is coming to an end by Feb 5th. Can she stay in Canada while she is waiting for her work permit?

She should apply to extend her TRV.

What kind of work permit has she applied for? It would have been a better idea to have left Canada and applied for the work permit from outside of Canada.

She applied for an open work permit from inside Canada. She wouldn't mind leaving and coming back I was just making sure if she can stay since she applied for a work permit until she gets a decision from CIC.

FYI, her TRV is valid till 2022. her 6 months stay will come to an end in Feb however.

She has a job offer here. Still did not answer my question on whether she can stay until she gets a decision from CIC.

She should apply to extend her visit in case her work permit is refused. Process below:

Note that having a job offer doesn't allow someone to apply for an open work permit unless they fall under some sort of exemption. Hopefully that's something she looked into before applying for the OWP.
