Anyone having work experience verified recently by IRCC?

If there is anyone who has got his or her work experience verified in recent days by IRCC, then plz guide how the process is like?

Means how verification is conducted??
By e-mail, phone etc.?
I have provided reference letter having all details required. I have three years continuous experience with a single employer.
Is it necessarily conducted for all cases or only when they have some doubt?

Recently my friend had verification where the Project Manager got a call and was asked about the position, roles and approximate joined date and was as smooth as that.
But verification could be by any means, there is no specific procedure for verification. I have heard about the cases with phone or email or even without contacting the company too.
All we can do is provide reference letter with correct (that VO can approach easily) mode of communication such as email or phone. As it depends on individual case.

As the other poster said, it can be verified using any means IRCC deems necessary, they verify every experiences, although I would assume that where they have doubts the verification would be more stringent.
