WES - Assessment Status: On Hold (Documents from IP University)

Hello People,

Need help/suggestions.

I recently sent my documents for ECA assessment to WES. The documents were received by WES in last week of September. On 15th Oct, the status was updated to "On hold: We are waiting for your institution(s) to verify your documents." - which as per my understanding means WES conducts a secondary verification of documents due to some reasons where they send photocopies of our documents for verification both electronically and by standard postal mail to the university.

Now, my educational documents (bachelors and masters) are from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprstha University, Delhi and I am not sure who would have received the communication at the university and when and if at all they would be replying back to WES.
I am apprehensive and speaking this from experience because it was a very tedious task to even get the transcripts from the university.

Has anybody faced the same issue? Please help!

I am facing the same issue, if WES was planning to do this then it would have been better for them ( and for us) to get the documents directly from the university instead of wasting our time and energy.

This was my Reply ---
Today I have been to examination center of IP University, to my surprise they are aware of the process where WES email to university for verification.
They have a process in the system where they ONLY send email to WES when they receive the hard copy - All the hard post goes to the registrar office then after sorting the letter/doc from WES as they know about transcript and degree verification, they send all those envelopes to examination center where they put all data in computer after that they verify by opening and matching it with student Enroll No - If match they automatically send a reply back as "Verified" to WES. They also make an entry in their computer system when they receive student transcript envelope and on which date they replied back to WES.
Use this No - 011-25302267 - Examination Center, call them and mention your Enroll No or WES Ref No, they will check the details in their system and give you details.
This is a fully automated process and students DON'T have to go and ask for anything, they are not going to do anything exceptional for you.

If you have any other queries, you can ask them over the phone IF you are still not convinced and want to go to campus then you have to go Examination block and there's a guy sitting behind the window and he will you a piece of paper with room no written and then you have to go to front gate of examination block and show that paper and make entry in there log book and go to 1st floor and then again log enter and then Room No - 127. - Same room and the process you did for getting transcripts in hand.

There is no process at University of Mumbai to mail transcripts directly. Now i am stuck. I would request all of us to email our concerns directly to WES, maybe they may relax rule.

Yes. IP university did reply to the secondary verification. (Surprisingly, they have a well defined process for that! )

To answer your question - If so, how long did it take?
I submitted by application on 3rd Sep.
My documents were received by WES around 26th Sep.
My status was put ON HOLD on 15th Oct for secondary verification.
University replied to the WES on 30th Oct.
I got a response from WES on 9th Nov confirming that they have received the documents from my university on 3rd Nov. Also, WES status changed on 9th Nov to reflect the same.
Evaluation completed on 27th Nov.

So overall, my process took almost 3 months from the time of submitting the application including time taken for secondary verification also.

Hi @Meet Singh 09 You are right. I was also quite surprised to know about their process. I followed the same when I visited the university. Went to the examination block 1st floor, showed my enrollment number for both graduation and post graduation degrees. The guy behind the desk showed me the offline excel tracker that they maintain for tracking if and when they have replied to the WES. Though, that guy told me that they did not send any hard copies back to WES again, they had just sent an email confirmation to WES confirming the secondary verification of my transcripts.

@Meet Singh 09 Thanks for replying. I also called yesterday on the number provided by you. Staff was very helpful and they looked for my enrollment number but they couldn't find any record. They told me to call on Monday as sometimes it takes 9-10 days for a physical mail to reach University from Toronto.

Anyone has any information about the process for CCS University Meerut(Bachelors degree). I couldn't find any info online as well as I tried to reach them via email and phone but no one is answering.

Hi! Since yours is the most recent post. Can I please ask you that the envelope that IPU used for your transcripts , was it a an official enevlope with IPU name and logo on it or it was a plane enevlope with just the seal stamps put on back?

Also did you mail your transcripts on your own or University did it for you?

Actually I have got my sealed transcripts for Wes in a plane enevlope from Wes with seal stamps on 30th November and I thought if I could mail it on my own since University doesn't do it..

Yeah! I saw the change in rule. But University hasn't been mailing the Wes directly .they give the sealed envelope and ask us to write the address and mail on our own.
That's why asking that they mailed yours or they asked you to mail it? Also, did they use University logo envelope or a plane envelope ?

I sent my docs on 22nd Nov. It was just before this new policy.
Also, I had to send transcripts from two different universities. So, I put both transcripts into another big envelope and then sent it to WES.

Okay..thanks how about the envelope? They have given me a plane one. Were your transcripts in an official envelope withwuniversity logo & name or a plane one?
