UAE police clearance- original or electronic copy

Season's greetings and happy holidays to the forum members.

Whilst I would be eligible for citizenship in Sep 19, I was looking at list of documents required and I have a question regarding UAE PCC to those forum members who have lived in the UAE and provided PCC for the 4th preceding year:

1-Does IRCC accept electronic copies of PCC or they would necessarily need an original PCC?
2- Does it matter if PCC is provided from any emirate (say from Dubai given the fact one can receive it electronically)? Nevertheless, the PCC would cover country level clearance.
3- In case if original PCC is required, what is the best way to obtain when are in Canada? Contact details, if any of the consulate or embassy would be helpful
4- The document checklist doesnt say about any validity timelines. Does it mean, I can request PCC now?

I just submitted my app along with E certificate from Dubai. From what i read in past many applicants did same and were through the process without any trouble as even the edocument has a way for IRCC to verify it online.

Regaring emirate you just need one PCC per country so get it from emirate where u lived most. Now i am not sure if you never lived dubai and can get a dubai pcc or not.

For validity most pcc are only valid for 90 days from issuance (states on PCC) so you should not request it now rather just few days before application would make sure your are not requested to resubmitt fresh one

Can you guide how did you get E-certificate? My residency Visa was of Sharjah, however I believe I can get UAE PCC issued by Emirate of Dubai .

Just go to dubai police website and apply for it polcie certificate online. You will need ur emirates Id number, passport copy and visa of uae copy to apply. Ignore the part where it says biometric card as emirates id people dont need that.

Once done you will get the certificate in a day or two

Hi,

When I was in UAE you were able to get PCC only from the emirate where your residency permit is from,so i don't know if that has changed.
