When to do medical test/exam?

I have got ITA , but it was mentioned somewhere I will have to do medical exam after I am told to do so (within 30 days ). Should I wait for any information from their side or I can do it on my own ?

Go for an upfront medical exam. Also, try to keep it as close as possible to the day you are about to submit the final application.
