Job responsibilities with NOC B and NOC

Hi Guys!

My current job responsibilities has some tasks that fall under NOC C, but most of it under NOC B, i.e. 1 of the 7 tasks mentioned in the reference letter is NOC C and rest is NOC B. Is it safe to go with NOC B code? I spoke with my manager to skip that one task from reference letter, but she is not comfortable with that. I am applying under CEC. Any help here would be great. Thanks,

All I can say is, "It depends." Generally if you can clearly show that the majority of your duties fall under the NOC B code, you will be fine. In practice, when there is overlap between an NOC B and C, applicants often apply wishful thinking and give themselves an unsupported upgrade (VOs will watch for this), or don't clearly understand the differences between the codes, and so cannot clearly show that their experience is truly under the NOC B code. IF you want to post your duties, we can give an opinion.

Here is the list responsibilities,

IT Finance Coordinator Responsibilities
1. Invoice processing for all infrastructure and telecommunication vendors
2. Led and executed a consolidation project with IT vendors to streamline efficiency with IT finance process

IT Project Administrator Responsibilities
3. Create project hour reports for tracking project spend
4. Staff allocation report ( creation/execution weekly for management oversight, update with hour variance based on time off planning)
5. Governance meeting project preparations (logistics, reporting, etc.)
6. Warranty support management (migration project)
- Tracking like, reporting, escalation process for upgrade project
- daily status update
7. Production support execution ( for government reporting proces)
- process oversight & execution for GAA regulated reporting submission
- troubleshooting and reconciling errors related to claims.

The first point in the list falls under NOC C code - 1431 (billing clerk) and the rest NOC B code - 1221 (Administrative Officers)

I think you're OK with the NOC B code... if you can, try not to distinguish between the 2 roles (Just one list of duties, unless you actually have 2 different jobs) and put the invoice processing on the bottom of the list.

Thanks for the reply, I don't think my manager would do that either. It's kind of what she does, she is just going print as such. I already tried that.. I my role is cross functional.. I do work with Finance team and IT Projects..
