My application got approved today (7 days after my passport was delivered). Here is the latest status:

Personally I don't believe in concept of being positive or negative in this particular situation. I have nothing against it but these are concepts to make oneself believe or rationalize things. It may work for many but it doesn't work for me. I believe in facts. When my friends got their PPR they told me be positive yours should come in 3/4 months also. But what is being positive has got to do with it. I called figured out my VO. Then went on a journey to find as many cases as possible to see what is the processing time for Montreal. And no amount of being positive would have changed processing times of Montreal.

I do believe in being positive when there is some action which is in my control. If I were giving an exam which had 10 chapters. And I had time to cover only 8, I can be positive and hope less questions come from remaining two chapters or be positive about not getting anything wrong in the 8 chapters that I did cover. The situation we are in has absolutely nothing in my (or anyone of us) control.

Also I don't consider what we are doing here as "patience" as well. Patience is refraining from doing something when you have the ability to do it.

That is why I appreciate you taking the lead and creating a petition. Will it work? We don't know (or may be we know deep down). But that is action and for me that is more important than concepts like "being positive" or "patience" because both of those don't apply in our situation (my opinion).

Hey Cansha, you made great points here. And I respect that you know what works and what does not work for you. I found myself almost slipping into depression because of this whole thing but I had to try to consciously do other things so as not to be swamped but it has not been easy.

We hope for the best for all of us but I am earnestly hoping for yours to come and other june candidates first. And It will come.

I just used this link https://secure.cic.gc.ca/feedback-retroaction/feedback-retroaction-eng.aspx to provide "feedback" to CIC on their processing times. It may again not help but request folks to use this option to let them know about the issues. I would especially the ones who have received PPRs to participate if they can. Thanks!

Feedback was around how some files are waiting beyond 6 month mark and on ordering GCMS notes people come to know the reason of delay is actually no one has touched the file. If a file is not even touched how can they say it is taking more time to process information. Also added points how the progress bar is useless and if they want they need to make the process more FIFO.

Actually I know only three who are active. I would hope even the ones not active may come here to update after they hear something. Or some may be in the WA group and not active here after joining WA group. Although we have indications that Montreal did reach some of the July files. I think we can expect any real progress now only after Jan 9.

Thanks @cansha . An additional piece of info you didnt know: I got a 2nd ghost update yesterday (even I saw it only this morning... No change in BGC status though even after the 2nd ghost). It changed finally after PPR.

Please say the story of how you called the agents and what they told you today. To further buttress that agents say crap many times and they don't really know the actuall status of the application

I think anyone who has a ghost update is in luck. It means file has moved and PPR can happen. So @Y@$h you may also see something soon.
I’m yet to see any ghost visit me. So chances are zero that I hear anything before New Year.
