Extending Study Permit Inside Canada Biometrics

Hey I will be submitting my study permit extension application around the first week of January 2019. I read that I will need a biometrics. How do you I get biometrics ?. I'm currently in Kelowna, BC. Thanks

If you’re in Canada and you apply for a visitor visa, study permit, work permit or permanent resident visa or status, you don’t have to give your biometrics untilwe open collection centres in Canada in 2019.

When the new collection centres are open in Canada, you’ll have to give biometrics for your next application, including a renewal or an extension.

So until they have these collection centred open you don't have to give biometrics.

I am quite confused by their statement. I was under assumption they would have it open on beginning of 2019 hence my assumption. However, That might not seems the case based on your comment.

No that is only for applications outside Canada that did not have biometrics earlier.
