Using same Job duties while applying under CEC

I started as contractor and was converted as full time by the company that I was contracting.

The same duties performed as contractor was carried over to full time position.

Can the main tasks on both reference letters be the same?

Yes, if that is the truth.

But if by "contractor" you mean self-employed contractor, you can't use that experience as Canadian experience.

No I was contracting through an agency with this company A and then was converted as full time employee by company A for the same job role.
